This is the route that turns a counter-priced passport photo into the price of one ordinary 4×6 print. The tool at the top of the page makes the crop and lays six copies on a 4 × 6 inch image with cut lines; the kiosk prints it as an ordinary 4×6 on photo paper; you cut. The same steps work at CVS, Walmart, Target, Costco or any counter that prints 4×6 photos.

Step 1 — Make the sheet
Take a photo with your phone: daylight from a window in front of you, camera at eye level about 1.5 metres away, hair off the face, neutral expression, mouth closed, no glasses. Drop it into the tool with the US passport preset. Check the blue crown and chin lines sit on the top of your head and the bottom of your chin — drag them if not — and confirm the checklist shows the head height inside 25–35 mm. Then press "4×6 sheet". The download is a 1800 × 1200 pixel JPEG at 300 dpi: exactly 6 by 4 inches, with six 2-inch photos and thin grey cut lines. Save it to your phone's camera roll or copy it to a USB drive.
Step 2 — Order it as a 4×6 print
At the kiosk: tap Prints, choose 4×6, connect your phone (most kiosks take a cable, Bluetooth or a QR code from the Walgreens app) or insert the USB drive, select the sheet, set the quantity to one, and — this matters — turn off any auto-crop, auto-enhance or 'fill the print' option. The sheet is already exactly 4×6; any cropping shifts the cut lines and any enhancement changes the background tone. Choose glossy or matte; both are accepted. Online instead: upload the sheet to Walgreens Photo, order a 4×6 print for store pickup, again with no cropping or enhancement, and collect it in about an hour.
Do not order the 'passport photo' product in the app or at the kiosk. That is the counter service at the full price. You want a plain 4×6 print.
Step 3 — Cut and check
Cut along the grey lines with scissors or, better, a paper trimmer, which keeps the edges square. Measure one photo: it should be 2 inches on each side. Hold a ruler from the chin to the top of the head: between 1 and 1⅜ inches. Both should already be right — the tool printed them that way — but the acceptance agent will measure, so you measure first. Keep the remaining four photos; passport applications, USCIS forms and some visas each want two, and the photo is valid for six months.
Frequently asked questions
Will the kiosk resize my sheet?
Only if auto-crop or 'fill' is on. Turn those off. The sheet is exactly 4×6 at 300 dpi so a print at actual size needs no adjustment.
Does this work at CVS, Walmart or Costco?
Yes. Any kiosk or online service that prints 4×6 photos on photo paper works the same way; only the menu wording differs.
Is a kiosk print good enough for the passport agency?
Yes. The rule is photo-quality paper, matte or glossy. The kiosk prints on the same paper the counter uses.
What if I need a 35×45 mm photo instead?
Choose that country's preset; the sheet then carries eight 35×45 photos. The printing steps are identical.
